Our client, a Luxury Safari Camp in Maasai Mara, is looking to recruit a resourceful and hands on Camp Operation / Maintenance Manager for its property in Maasai Mara. 
 
The successful candidate MUST have experience working in a camp or an isolated environment as well as experience / knowledge of maintenance of generators, water pumps and procurement of plant and parts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supporting the GM and the team in the day-to-day running of the camp and ensuring a first rate guest experience.
  • Supporting the maintenance team in ensuring all aspects of the camp run smoothly and that regular preventative maintenance is carried out – requires general knowledge of generators, water pumps, electrics, vehicles, plumbing etc.
  • Asset management (including vehicles).
  • Procurement and ordering as well as stock management.
  • Helping to train and develop the team.
  • Supporting the GM in health & safety matters for the team and guests.
  • Hosting guests.
  • Supporting GM in liaising with the community, conservancy and union.
Qualifications
  • Hosting and guest relations experience.
  • Previous experience / knowledge of maintenance (generators, water pumps, etc.) and procurement of plant and parts.
  • Experience of designing and running planned maintenance systems.
  • Experience of meeting statutory criteria – licences, health & safety aspects and government requirements.
  • Experience and ability of setting up preventative maintenance schedules.
  • Experience of managing a budget. 
  • Community liaison experience an advantage.
  • Strong management and organisational skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Procurement experience and managing stock of a range of asset items including fuel.
  • Knowledge of general maintenance issues, including vehicle maintenance.
  • High level observation skills/ attention to detail.
  • Assertive and confident in dealing with people.
  • Good leadership skills.
  • Understands cultural issues involved and the requirements for a happy team.
  • Strong IT experience – Microsoft packages.
Monthly gross salary: Ksh. 300,000/= plus other benefits (Approx. 3,000 USD)
